All stories have to begin somewhere so I guess I’ll start with my name! My name is William Chandler, my friends call me William, my acquaintances call me William… let’s just assume from here on that I only go by William. I’ve been asked several times over the years why I never go by a nickname, and its simply because I enjoy my full name too much to have it shortened!
I’m a sophomore with dual majors in Broadcast Journalism and Business Administration with a minor in Russian. After South Alabama? I’ll be heading to law school!
I am the owner of my own recording studio and business called Grand Stag Studios. Why it is named that will be for a later blog post as I will probably bring it up quite often. I’ve done voice work for Disney, Radio Atlanta, and some freelancer work here and there.
I’m also an Executive Partner of Lonely Zebra Apparel which will be rolling out Spring 2018.
Now that we have that out of the way, we can get into the meat of the blog.
Personally, I have never been a big fan of blogging and I’m not an avid reader of them. I typically prefer to watch a video or listen to a podcast rather than read a blog.
However, it is a vital skill to learn in our massive and ever-changing field of communication. There are entire businesses, such as newsgroups and marketers, that use blogs to inform the consumer of important, all be it condensed, information.
In conclusion, I am looking forward to learning how to blog and looking forward to seeing you all soon!

William, I have never been a big fan of blogging either! I rarely even reading anyone else’s, so I am right there with you. But as you mentioned, the field of journalism is changing almost daily. As future journalists, we need to adapt as not to be left behind!
